Here’s a little trick I sometimes use to create the color palette for an illustration. I’ll assemble objects from around my house that have the colors I need, and photograph them in one shot. If I need a very unusual color of light, I’ll use a computer or iPad screen filled with that color to light the photograph.
The brass doorknob was key in figuring out how the jewelry would reflect the various objects around Madelyne.
